Job description

Overall Job Purpose

§ This is an internal client facing role that requires individual to own the issue and track it to closure.

§ IT Operation support and application management for Finance area.

§ Ensure SAP FI and Travel Management system availability and stability for general use and report generation.

§ Work closely with Level 3 team for knowledge transfer to Level 2 team as well as customise the knowledge article to suit Level 1 use.

§ Provide weekly updates on System Operability.

Key Accountabilities & approximate time split (%)

(Ideally 4-10 points or headings with sub-points. Quantify where possible e.g. cost/income budget, no of subordinates, likely no of yrs/mths to complete longest task. Could note key external/internal lateral relationships)

§ Identify areas of improvement for system to meet availability requirement and better user experience

§ Investigate and troubleshoot issues

§ Handle user enquiries

§ Escalate incidents/issues to Level 3 teams and/or Management as appropriate

§ Ensure key deliverables meet the timelines (SLA Management)

§ Work with Development team to rollout changes in the production environment (Release Management)

§ Maintain knowledge base of known defects and issues, processes and support techniques

§ Adhere to the established processes around ITIL

§ Participate in weekend or after-hours work to support critical business initiative such as application rollouts, infrastructure changes or disaster recovery tests will be required at times

§ Undertake Incident and Problem management as part of the regular work

§ Participate in the BCM test activities

§ Train, guide and mentor new hires in the team

§ Work with global business IT & projects teams to ensure seamless support for the business

Risk and Control Objective

· Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards.

Person Specification

(Personal attributes essential to performing role: e.g. skills, competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience. Note: experience not to be time-bound)

Experience

· Masters or Bachelors Degree (preferably IT related).
· Relevant years of working experience in IT role, SAP BW experience in supporting or implementing SAP BW.
· Good years of experience providing production application support n the area of SAP BW.

Essential Skill:

· In-depth functional knowledge of SAP BW 3.X., BI 7.0 and BPC Consolidation.
· In-depth BI specific knowledge of SAP SAP Function module like FI, Project system, Procurement.
· Good understanding of SAP Portal.
· Good understanding of SAP FI-AP and MDM.
· Knowledge of Microsoft office –Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
· Experience in working with Procurement Users is essential.
· Experience with ITIL concepts and best practices.
· Strong spoken & written communication skills

Advantageous Skill:

· Ability to understand the business context and respond to users
· Exposure to SAP BPC, SAP BO,SAP BI-BO and SAP BI BPC integration and ABAP.
· Experience in using Microsoft Share Point, HP OpenView ServiceCentre, Service Now and Business Objects.
· Work experience in investment banking is an advantage.
· SAP Certification would be an added advantage.

Besides above technical skills, the individual needs to have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team player; ability to work in highly dynamic environment; flexible and must possess the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes. Successful candidate has to possess excellent problem solving skills and strong crisis management skills – able to remain calm in stressful situations
