Job Title PEP Analyst
Location Glasgow
The Financial Crime/PEP Hub team is responsible for undertaking PEP and High Risk customer reviews for multiple business units including RP&S, Business Banking and Barclaycard.
Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and High Risk customer reviews are crucial elements of ensuring Barclays fulfils its Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulatory obligations. This role will carry out PEP and High Risk customer reviews on behalf of multiple Business Units, in order to assess the level of Financial Crime risk
What you'll be doing?
• Manage PEP Alerts received into the hub and evaluate against Group Policy
• Gather information about PEP and High Risk customers in accordance with
Group policy and regulatory requirements
• Responsible for identifying and remediating any gaps in client KYC information
and obtaining through customer contact strategy
• Investigate, analyse and recommend whether the customer relationship is
within/outside of risk appetite. Complete follow up activities such as Exits,
additions to Watch List and raising of SAR's
• Build trusted relationships with Advocacy, Relationship Managers, Market
Leaders and MLRO's in order to ensure consistent and correct decisions are
made
• Ensure all activity is delivered in accordance with processes, procedures, and
the control framework in place.
• Notify to management any opportunities to improve processes, procedures or
controls
What we're looking for:
• A strong understanding of Financial Crime regulations and policies (AML,
Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption) and the ability to make
recommendations for a customer case based on available evidence.
• Investigation/review experience
• Ability to analyse complex data
• Experience working in a regulated function such as Financial Crime, CASS,
AML, Complaints, Pensions etc. Report writing and make decisions around
case prioritisation and daily workload
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Stakeholder management experience
• Good knowledge of operational risk requirements and standards applicable to
the relevant processes and procedures
• Ability to work on multiple work types concurrently and have the ability to
switch focus based on priority and business needs
• Experience in change initiatives and projects, owning tasks/objectives through
to completion
