Overall purpose of role:

The main duties are providing highly responsive IT support to Front Office trading teams.

The successful candidate would be responsible for ensuring rapid response to user technical and functional issues for a wide range of trading applications across multiple business lines and asset classes.

Trade Floor Support are responsible for ensuring that IT services have a high level of stability and maintaining high service availability for Front Office users.

You will have functional responsibilities such as proactively identifying back end problems with continuous monitoring to ensure full availability. You will also look after front end and back end resolution as well as support and configuration of the Trading Systems.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

• Providing a seamless end to end support service for front office users, The candidate will be expected to provide high availability support for trading desk.
• The role involves investigation of trader related issues and resolving or engaging with application owners to provide effective issue and problem management and rapid resolution
• Provide advisory services to trading desk for functional use cases and configuration of Trading systems
• Proactive management of business critical real-time trading systems, identifying issues and potential problem areas.
• Log and track incidents and calls. Tracking outstanding issues and working with the appropriate group to achieve resolution of them
• Continuous monitoring to ensure full availability
• Start of day morning check and health monitoring
• Engaging with Front Office management teams to ensure proactive management of SLA's, capacity, performance and BCM planning
• Engagement with application owners and development team to review planned changes that may impact application functionality or availability to from office users. Participate in meetings with internal IT teams or project groups to ensure risks are mitigated

Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

The role will involve a significant level of business engagement to ensure that Front Office systems are maintained and enhanced to meet current and ongoing control standards which will include among others data protection and security, delivery of trading information for regulatory reporting and assistance with ad hoc data requests for regulatory or control purposes
It is also expected that the role will involve IT providing support for front office trading audits, key control reviews and follow up on incidents where key controls or system issues result in potential financial loss

Person Details Required
· You will be eager and ambitious, a self starter and enjoy learning new technologies.
· You must be confident to engage with business stakeholder, global colleagues and peers in other teams. You will be equally as comfortable working individually as you are working collaboratively as part of a global team.
· Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills
· Ability to work in a pressured environment with minimal supervision
· You must demonstrate fundamental understanding of ITIL concepts and their implementation in the working environment
· Flexibility to deliver a consistently high level of service within a constantly changing environment with rapidly changing priorities
Person Details Preferred
· Financial knowledge of Fixed Income products end to end trade workflow. Knowledge of other asset classes such as FX, Commodities or Credit an advantage
· Good understanding of one or more of the following : concepts of financial products risk management, awareness of financial instrument pricing, concepts of market data in front office applications
Skills and Experience Essential
· Good database and SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server)
· Previous experience in application support, preferably supporting trading systems
· Good understanding of concepts of trading business and end to end business process and workflows
· Good working knowledge of operating system platforms (UNIX, Linux, SQL, Windows)
· Able to utilise core technical skill and apply to a variety of trading platforms, technologies and operating platforms

Skills and Experience Preferred
· Advanced Excel / VBA skills would be a advantageous
· Experience of market data systems such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters
· Understanding of middleware technologies such as MQ and Solace
