Barclays Premier banking is a key personal banking segment within Barclays Dubai that delivers the best of Barclays to circa 1 million qualifying affluent customers in the UK & Internationally through the provision of carefully selected benefits, rewards and personalised service. Premier Global Clients is designed for clients who maintain at least £100,000 or currency equivalent of investable assets.
About Premier Investments (Global Clients)
Premier Investments provide an investment advisory service to four Global Client segments:
· Citizens of other than UK countries who live and work in the UK and who benefit from their “non domicile” tax status
· UK Citizens who are living abroad and not liable for UK tax on offshore holdings
· Citizens of any country who are looking for a ‘safe haven' for their money in a reputable jurisdiction and with a reputable financial organisation
· Local customers who live in the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey
Overall purpose of role
Providing clients with a range of investment solutions that match the client's attitude to risk and investment objectives while ensuring good customer outcomes are being delivered at all times. The International Investment Adviser (IIA) will build internal and external business relationships to grow and develop a portfolio of investment advisory and discretionary clients
Key Accountabilities
· To provide a first class financial planning service based on analysis of financial needs and risk position from client activity
· To take clients through an on-going risk profiling process to ensure the chosen portfolio meets their risk appetite and is best placed to assist them in achieving their medium and long term financial goals
· To establishing thorough client plans, reacting to and developing new opportunities from client contacts, ensuring appropriate provision of products and services both directly and via product specialists
· To use their extensive experience and knowledge identify and provide solutions to a wide range of client needs including investments, banking, credit, FX and wealth structuring (trusts etc), whilst showing appreciation for the lifestyle and financial priorities of our international clients
· To identify, develop and secure new client relationships through referrals from the Relationship Managers
· To maintain and develop client relationships and provide investment advice within the UK regulatory framework
· To interact with Product and Group partners driving a world class client-centric culture by ensuring the delivery of an exceptional client experience and promoting Barclays Group products and services based upon an in-depth understanding of clients' needs
· To contribute to the to the team commercial goals and the delivery of sustainable returns via provision of appropriate (suitable) investment advice to clients
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
· The role holder will work collaboratively in partnership with colleagues worldwide to deliver banking and other services, thus ensuring a holistic service for the client
· The role holder will develop relationships with colleagues in other parts of Barclays to ensure clients are managed in the most appropriate way, enabling effective management of clients as required. In doing this, the IIA has joint responsibility with internal colleagues for the end to end client experience, ensuring client satisfaction
· The role holder will require strong communication and relationship building skills to create and maintain a network of internal stakeholders and to support the deepening of Premier customer relationships.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
· The role holder will demonstrate extensive knowledge of investment techniques, whilst personally complying with all regulatory requirements.
· The role holder will provide an investment advice to existing clients, guiding them through the investment and financial planning solutions available through Barclays.
· The role holder will proactively contribute to improvement of client satisfaction scores
Risk and Control Objective
· Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
· The role holder will be expected to research and maintain up to date knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements and compliance policies. Adherence to all such standards, both legal and regulatory to avoid exposing the business to undue risk is a critical component of this role
Regulated Role
This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications (RDR Level 4 minimum) to meet internal company benchmarks.

· Demonstrate always putting the client at the centre of what they do and strive to deliver an exceptional level of service and experience to all clients
· Demonstrate an in-depth understanding and experience of the Financial Services Industry, particularly in the areas of regulated financial planning specialising in Investments, Pensions and Trusts
· Detailed knowledge of and demonstrate adherence to UK regulatory requirements and an overall understanding of the business impact of the regulatory environment
· Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of relevant changes in the marketplace, products, legislation and regulation
