Infrastructure Engineer
Radbroke Hall, Knutsford

The Customer Contact team are looking for infrastructure engineers who are experienced with application hosting, interested in DevOps and passionate about delivering and supporting solutions.
Multi-Channel Applications are consumed across web, mobile, telephony and contact centre platforms. The team you will work in are responsible for providing the engineering, delivery and support of the MCA application hosting platforms, as well as the application integration.

What will you be doing?

• You will maintain an in-depth, end-to-end technical understanding of one or more applications / products,
• Be recognised as the ‘go to' contact for technical queries, live incidents and problems.
• You will lead and drive solutions that meet the requirements and are compliant to Barclays Standards
• Prepare documentation that explains the technical solution clearly, to various stakeholders who may have different level of technical skills, and planning to meet client needs.
• Attend incident resolution calls and be able to clearly articulate basic technical issues understand the actions required, perform the actions then report back on the outcomes.
• Identification of root cause and implementation of permanent fix

What we're looking for:

• JEE Application Server experience (WAS, JBOSS EAP)
• Strong fault finding skills, particularly in relation to SSL/TLS
• Good understanding of virtualisation, PaaS / Cloud hosting and deployment options (OpenStack, OpenShift, Docker, AWS)
• Experience of working in an Agile environment

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Understanding of the mechanisms associated with securing application servers
• Experience of a CI/DevOps pipeline with git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, etc.
• Familiarity with a corporate environment and comfortable working within regulatory controls.
• Infrastructure design experience with familiarity of client-tier, mid-tier and data-tier technologies and offerings in a large corporate environment.
