Overall purpose of role :

NY FX Investment Bank Middle Office (“FX IBMO”) is part of a three site support group (with London & Singapore) within Global Middle Office working closely with Trading, Sales and Trade Capture Utility teams. This is a regional support role for the Global FX business. The role holder is responsible for supporting the Front Office in the business of dealing FX and FX Options. In practice this will mean being responsible for ensuring trades are booked accurately and generating the correct Risk and P&L given the risk profile.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

The role holder would act as a central point of contact and accountability for FX Trading and Operations, and to support all levels of business initiatives. Principle targets of the team are to develop and enhance T+0 control and focus, provide transparency to the front to back process, implement business change initiatives and providing value-added operational support required by Trading. Also, the role holder will be responsible for establishing a strong Control Environment around the capture and validation of FX / Options Transactions.

Core emphasis:

Manage Intra-day and EOD controls covering all FX & FXD activity in the fast-paced global currency markets.

Manage design and implementation of new processes in line with business initiatives.

Close liaison with Post Trade Services, Trading, Sales and PCG globally to quickly resolve issues and ensure minimum financial impact.

Verification of life-cycling decisions across the global portfolios in real-time following market movements as barriers trigger and expiry/call decisions are made

Validation of new trades - both non-STP vanilla deals and structured products in the risk system

Daily and intraday reconciliations across FX Cash and Derivative systems to ensure desk positions are accurate

EOD PNL Batches/Reconcile Desk Discrepancies

EOD Pricing

Monitor and action queries from a variety of Sales, Trading and Infrastructure teams.

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards.

The ideal candidate should be able to take lead role in process improvements as the Middle Office Team is constantly seeking to innovate and rationalize existing processes.

Your Skills and Qualifications will include

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree

• 1 + years experience within an Operational role with related experience in OTC Derivatives of FX Transaction Management.

• 1 + years experience focused on control from an operational or finance perspective, with an emphasis on efficiency.

Preferred Qualification

• Excellent Excel skills & Basic VBA knowledge

• Prior work experience involving direct interaction with Traders / Front Office

• High attention to detail

• Excellent communicator & interpersonal skills
