Job description

Events, Roadshows and Hospitality supports business strategy by delivering quality brand, customer, client and colleague experience through offering innovative and creative solutions in the execution of our four areas of expertise: Events, Roadshows, Hospitality and Merchandise.

Overall purpose of role:
· To develop and execute a diverse range of events to the highest standard
· Responsibility for all aspects of event end-end in conjunction with colleagues/ Managers
· To be aware of budgets, and support team with venue and supplier management activities
· The vacancy is a replacement role

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:
· Key specific accountabilities.
· Plan end-to-end event activity including the following:
· Prepare and manage event budgets and end-to-end finance process
· Manage event timelines and project plans and procurement activities and support colleagues with theirs
· Delegate management including invitation production, joining instructions and on-site management
· Follow all internal processes and policies; and use internal technology systems effectively
· Follow our health and safety risk assessment procedures for all events

· Stakeholder management and leadership.
· Liaise and regularly communicate with internal hosts to proactively recommend event activity, review their detailed event requirements and maintain communication throughout the planning and execution process
· Strong team player; excellent communication skills (verbal & written) ability to guide and persuade others
· Speaker and host management including speaker suggestions, collation of presentations, speaker briefings and accommodation requirement
· Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with our preferred suppliers
· Champion an agreed process / relationship / expertise (such as legal, compliance, creative, sourcing, catering, diversity, accessibility) and provide regular updates to the wider team
· Act as an Ambassador for events inside and outside the bank

· Decision making and problem solving.
· Ability to problem solve, take ownership, multi-task and meet deadlines
· Effective time management – Manage own time and work volumes, including anticipated risk, effectively to achieve results and deliver on tasks/targets even in the face of adversity
· Exhibit strong admin & organisational skills/ability to adhere to policies
· Ensure accuracy and a strong attention to detail
· Interprets and complies with all applicable governance, compliance, risk policies and procedures
· Demonstrate an awareness of reputation risk management and escalate where appropriate
· Staffing requirements on site including briefings and on site management. Prepare event collateral including detailed schedules, evaluations, surveys as required and post-event debrief meetings
· Co-ordination of hospitality may be required for some roles

· Risk and Control Objective: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include
· Proficient in Microsoft skills (PPT, Word, Excel)
· Aptitude and ability to navigate using different technology systems
(OneEvent; iPlanner: AIP; SAP; eTouches; iConference)
· Industry knowledge and prior experience: Events, Roadshows, Hospitality & Merchandise
· Proven skills and experience in negotiations
· Experience within the Financial services industry
· Regional Languages an advantage
