Equities IBMO
Equities is an expanding segment of the Barclays business. Synthetics IBMO which is a part of the Equities organisation within Operations is made up of teams in London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo provide seamless solutions in equities, ensuring clients benefit from local support and expertise as well as proactive management of their issues. We provide outstanding liquidity and offer seamless trading capabilities and transparent pricing for a range of products in Equities.
IB MO is a group that provides new product sign off, pre-trade functions (both control & issuance), lifecycle management, query management and reconciliation support to Equity Derivative Trading and Sales teams. IB MO consists of various equities middle office teams including Synthetics IBMO.
IB MO is the point of contact for both the Clients and Front Office for a range of trade related issues, and their role is to facilitate resolutions of any problems that arise. The team is responsible for supporting the Equity Swaps, Index/Custom Index Swaps & Portfolio Swaps business. This team offers the opportunity for an individual to develop their Equities product and business service experience within a leading Investment Bank.
Role Purpose
· Collaborate with the business - trading/trade capture teams to resolve issues raised by clients and other Infrastructure teams
· Own end to end resolution of breaks on various reconciliations that are used by business to monitor their PnL
· Identify process improvement opportunities and work with Change / IT/ other Ops teams to implement the changes
· Implement process changes to deliver efficiencies within the broader Equities organisation
· Collaborate with global MO/IT teams to deliver various strategic system enhancements
· Demonstrate a good understanding of various regulatory trade reporting and the lifecycle of trade through UAT testing opportunities
Key Accountabilities
· Manage queries received from clients, operations and counterparties in an accurate & timely fashion
· Regular interaction with the desk to gain exposure to products and strategies traded by desk
· Monitor client trade allocations/ execution, manage and resolve exceptions
· Coordinate escalations with Settlements/Product Control globally and work with the desk / client services team to resolve and mitigate risk exposure
· Work closely with management to streamline processes and re-align to correct operating model within team and broader Ops groups such as Trade Control / Post trade services
· Manage day to day processing involving - Client position & Trade break queries, CFD/PSWAP/ Book Transfer reconciliation, Portfolio Swap Reset process, Manual FX trade bookings & New client account static setup
· Ensure corporate actions & dividends reflected correctly on client accounts
Person Specification
· Understanding of Equity CFD, Single Stock Swap or portfolio swap
· Comprehensive understanding of Trade lifecycle and front to back workflow knowledge, with exposure to different teams involved globally throughout the trade processing .
· Analytical skills in understanding issues raised, determining action required and implementing solutions, address root cause and improve the Control environment
· Hands on working knowledge of applications such as Delta-1, Synfiny, Memphis, Intellimatch as well as market platforms such as MarkitWire and the Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel
· Influencing and relationship-building skills
· Team player with a high level of drive, commitment and enthusiasm
· Good Communicator - clarity, brevity and precision
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Good time management, prioritising tasks, ability to manage expectations well and able to meet deadlines
· Keen analytical skills and the ability to develop effective solutions
