About Risk Analytics
Risk Analytics is a shared service within Barclays, focusing on the delivery and management of core quantitative risk management tools. The department focuses on a number of key functions, to support business units across Barclays.
Overall purpose of role
The purpose of the role is the provision of data quality testing and data strategy support for Risk Analytics covering all Retail and BUK Barclaycard portfolios. This will include
• The execution and production of Risk Analytics data quality reporting.
• Presenting findings to stakeholders and highlighting any issues or deficiencies.
• Investigating any data issues identified and developing appropriate solutions.
• Undertaking the development of new data quality reporting utilizing SAS/SQL/Tivoli/UNIX.
• Exploring the use of new technologies and systems to upgrade data quality testing and reporting
• Provide support to other areas on the provision of data quality testing.

Key Accountabilities

Implementation of new data quality reporting (40%)
· Design, build and implement fully automated SAS/SQL DQ testing processes.
· Ensure quality of work by developing high quality reusable code and fully testing results
· Interaction with the stakeholders to ensure that the data/MI produced meets their requirements

Regular MI Reporting (40%)
· Responsible for running regular DQ reporting ensuring that high standards are maintained.
· Conduct own reviews of output to identify problem areas for investigation
· Escalate any issues for further investigation
· Understand drivers of DQ issues, liaising with SMEs where necessary
· Regularly present findings of data quality testing to stakeholders and recommend actions

Improving Internal Processes/ Quality (20%)
· Identify new opportunities for enhancing/ streamlining service
· Formulate opportunities into proposals and implement
· Develop initiatives to improve and automate processes to minimize errors and reduce effort

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

The successful applicant will interact with a range of stakeholders, both inside and outside of Risk Analytics. Key relationships will include IVU, Model Monitoring and Model Developers as well as other staff in Risk Analytics.

Decision-making and Problem Solving

Strong problem solving skills are required along with a thirst to drive innovation to deliver enhanced data quality testing and analytics for stakeholders. This will require the successful applicant to demonstrate clear decision-making and the ability to communicate key decisions to stakeholders and influence where necessary.

Risk and Control Objective

Person Specification

• Good knowledge of SQL or SAS/ Enterprise Guide required, knowledge of VB an advantage
• Sound analytical skills with the ability to identify issues
• Ability to research problems and find a way forward
• Good attention to detail and able to check own work
• Proficient with IT and PC systems – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Financial/Statistical/Budgetary MI Production
• Able to present findings to groups of stakeholders and explain results
• Excellent planning and organisation skills
• Good knowledge of Barclays Personal and Business Banking products
