What will you be doing?
Working as part of the regional Compliance Technology Run-the-Bank (RTB) Level 2 support team, this role is responsible for the continual support and maintenance of the technology Applications used by the global Compliance Business.
The role will require working with other L2 support analysts, both in the region & as part of our global team and will have reporting lines to the Regional RTB Lead and the L2 Lead. This role requires excellent communication, handling and resolution of various technical issues for a subset of our applications during regional hours. The role will also help to drive key initiatives and improvements and ensure adherence to the RTB Governance Framework. This will include working with Build-the-Bank (BTB or L3) teams and business stakeholders, incident/change/problem management, and engaging project teams to facilitate the release management process. Knowledge management, sharing and retention will be a key function of the role and the individual will be expected to work with our Infrastructure Risk & Control and Service Management teams to help deliver common initiatives such as BICEP and Technical Debt remediation.
Key Accountabilities
Perform incident and problem management activities, including working closely with technology and business stakeholders to provide innovative and tactical solutions to issues as well as improving the performance of our Applications and processes; this will include managing major incidents, performing post incident reviews and coordinating with our various 3rd party suppliers
Plan execution timelines/activities of various major releases and critical changes into Production and DR environments in collaboration with our development and technology support teams; this will include creating & managing change requests in accordance with Barclays Change Management standards
Working with colleagues help to identify repetitive or time consuming processes that can be automated and identify solutions that can be implemented across the team
Creation of required knowledge base documentation required to support applications, including appropriate sign-off where required
Coordination of various support activities across the global team, including handover of issues, knowledge sharing, training and collaboration on strategic projects
Off-hours on-call support will be required for this role on a rotational basis
What we're looking for:
Non-Technical
• High School Diploma.
• 2-3 years' experience working within a support function & ITIL Environment.
• 2-3 years' experience of Financial Services and Banking, with core knowledge of either Retail or Investment banking.
• 2-3 years' experience working as part of a project delivery team in either a Waterfall or Agile SDLC (Software Delivery Lifecycle) model.

Technical
• 2-3 years' knowledge of working on UNIX environment with exposure to one or more well-known UNIX flavours such as IBM AIX, HP-UX, Sun Solaris and/or Linux.
• 2-3 years' experience of working with databases such as Oracle or MS-SQL including fine tuning SQL queries, advanced investigation skills for performance issues and database profiling.
• 1-2 years' experience of working with a Windows based operating system.
• 1-2 years' experience of job scheduling, batch jobs etc and has exposure to one or more of scheduling tools.
• 1-2 years' experience working under a DevOps model, with hands-on experience operating and developing various automation tools such as Nolio or Chef.
Skills that will help you in the role:
• ITIL certified.
• Experience of Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime within the regulated sector, or an equivalent support function is favourable.
• Is aware of one or more Oracle related utilities such as SQLPLUS, sqlldr, utl_file and has exposure to working to different DB client tools such as TOAD.
• Is aware of Performance tuning concepts such as explain plan, query optimization, table scans etc.
• Exposure to Data Mining and Big Data Analytical tools, such as Hadoop, is favourable
• Keeps abreast of industry trends and marketplace experiences
• Project Management experience; specifically, under the Agile methodology is favourable.
