Compliance Transformation is a business transformation group sitting under the Function Transformation department within Operations & Technology. Overall purpose of role:

This role will support the delivery of solutions that enhance Employee Compliance within Barclays. The focus will be on implementation of applications to capture and report on Barclays employee activity such as Personal Account dealings, personal Interests and outside affiliations, licensing and registrations, mandatory block leave, gifts and entertainment.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

· Design and implement Web based UI frameworks for Compliance applications.

· Translate functional and technical requirements into IT solutions

· Develop fully functional modules that meet all the specifications and have successfully passed all tests including unit, integration, regression and system tests

· Estimate level of effort required to develop code that meets acceptance criteria

· Responsible for the technology implementation of changes and mentoring more junior team members

· Coordinate with other onshore and off-shore developers, deliver working code

· Tier-3 support and production release support: Respond promptly to requests from the support team in order to resolve user queries and handle technical issues that are out of scope for the support staff.

· Create and update system documentation

· Conduct peer reviews and provide documented constructive feedback

· Drive DevOps tooling within the project to increase automation and productivity.

· Preparing code for releases, ensuring a regular and reliable release schedule.

· Assisting the line manager in recruitment processes.

· Work with Dev Manager to develop and capture relevant metrics in order to improve team productivity.

Stakeholder management and leadership.

· Must be able to work with global (Poland, India and US) and multi-disciplinary (3 rd party, contractors and Barclays) delivery teams. Demonstrate ability to manage communications across multiple regions and significant time-zone gaps.

· Drive move towards Lean & Agile methodologies aligned with the firm's DDLA strategy.

· Providing thought leadership and leading by example

· Ensure that deliveries are completed as per stakeholder expectations, on schedule, as per regulatory requirements.

Risk and Control:

All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or similarly related field.

· Experience in Technology, experience of working for a large enterprise.

· Experience in Web UI development

· Experience with Javascript and JS frameworks primarily AngularJS, jQuery or simallar. Strong preference for experience in AngularJS.

· Experience in HTML5 development and CSS

· Familiarly with Web front-end development tools (Node.js, Grunt, Bower, Backbone.js, Maven, JUnit, etc)

· Experience utilizing and integrating with Web Services

· Working knowledge of the Java and related technologies, Databases like Oracle, MSSQL Server

· Working knowledge of the Unix environment

· Strong understanding of Agile methodologies as well as SDLC life-cycles and processes.

· Experience with software release/build processes (e.g., Continuous Integration, Automated Deployment, Test Driven Development, etc.)

· Willingness to learn new technologies, potentially related to Big Data and Visualization.

Preferred qualifications:

· Some experience of Java / J2EE is desirable.

· Ability to understand business requirements and develop software solutions.

· Strong data analysis skills and ability to present the findings to the business users.

· Quick learner; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with numerous tasks simultaneously and with frequently changing priorities.

· Ability to design, write and execute test cases.

· Financial background is highly preferred.

· Demonstrable ability to communicate and build relationships with members of the business and technology communities.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Must be independent and creative in approach to problems and issues; assertive, tenacious, proactive
