The Global Middle Office and Operations teams play an important role working with these businesses including supporting business growth, managing risk and the control environment, developing the operating model, and managing change and strategy to build an effective and scalable platform to support the successful businesses.

The Collateral and Margin Services is a business and risk aligned function responsible for managing Barclays' collateral exposure and regulatory margin commitments across a range of products and sectors to help minimise credit, market and reputational risks associated to our trading and business activity. Our focus is to ensure high levels of operational control across our processes, a proactive approach to managing risk and improving processes, and to partner closely with business and infrastructure teams to support the efficient use of capital and balance sheet resources for the firm.
The team is also responsible for developing best practice to meet industry and client demand, driving compliance with the growing market and regulatory requirements, and building a scalable Enterprise Collateral framework for Barclays future that is best-in-class for our future operations. CMS partners closely with teams across Trading, Sales, Collateral Optimisation, Treasury, Product and Valuation Control, Legal, Compliance, Credit Risk and other operating teams. We support a broad variety of products including all OTC derivative asset classes as well as Fixed Income, Equity, Repo, Cleared, Structured, GNA and Prime Brokerage products.

Overall purpose of role:

We are looking for a high quality AVP level candidate to join the CMS function and provide leadership across the Global regions as well as specified global functions including helping drive the development of the broader CMS function and strategy . The role requires someone with extensive business knowledge, analytical and relationship skills, strategic mindset and programme management discipline to help drive the build-out of the function as well as support the broader department and organisation objectives.

This is a challenging role requiring the successful individual to partner, coordinate and drive progress across global teams and different business areas as well as partner closely with key stakeholders and colleagues around the firm. This also presents an excellent opportunity to join a market leading organisation and business area and play an active part in driving the long-term development of the function in an area that is key to the future success of the financial services sector and at the heart of industry development and regulatory focus.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
·  Ensuring effectiveness of Global Dispute and Portfolio Reconciliation function to protect the firms risk
·  Delivering CFTC & EMIR regulatory compliance, reduction in RWA's and enhancing existing control framework in trade level exceptions
·  Ensure a robust risk and control framework is in place across the group with clear management information, escalation and analysis where required
·  Represent Global Dispute and Portfolio Reconciliation function on internal meetings and forums
·  Represent Barclays on industry working groups; provide summary of key points back to internal stakeholders, and coordinate resolution of any questions/actions.
·  Lead the adoption and implementation of upcoming Regulatory Uncleared Swap Margin Rules for Global function
·  Play an active and leading role on industry initiatives including design and build of Industry Collateral Hub to provide day to day efficiencies
·  Develop the market relationships with clients, counterparts, peers and industry groups to support above
·  Partner with colleagues in IBMO, COU, Operations, Finance, Risk & Legal functions in a Global context to drive delivery on key business initiatives and objectives
·  Lead the build-out of a robust operations team supporting processes globally across underlying products including the strategic development of processes and furthering client service opportunities.
·  Own people management including attracting, developing and retaining high performing staff and teams
·  Propose and drive efficiencies, process improvements and risk management initiatives across function(s)
·  Actively contribute to and help lead the definition and shape of the global CMS function and needs

Desired profile

Your Skills and Qualifications will include

Basic Qualifications
·  Bachelor's Degree
·  3+ Years experience in the financial services
·  2+ Years in a leadership role and experience working closely with global teams
Preferred Qualifications
·  Direct functional experience of the relevant businesses, products and functions (including Collateral, Credit Risk, Valuations) or equivalent business facing exposure in a complex risk orientated function
·  Broad business and operational knowledge across markets and asset classes is valuable
·  Strong approach to risk management and awareness of control across BAU and change programmes
·  Track-record of delivery in a significant business-facing roles
·  Experience of working with external providers, partners and regulators is a plus
·  Credibility and influence in order to proactively manage diverse internal stakeholder groups
·  Experience driving process reengineering and improvement and leading strategic change across major areas and operating teams
·  Understanding of commercial dynamics around business
·  Disciplined and structured approach to project and programme management
·  Excellent interpersonal skills including relationship management, communication and teamwork
·  Strong analytical and problem solving skills
