Barclaycard Change Assurance, Production Management:
Change Assurance ensures that standardized methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of all IT changes, to minimize the number and impact of change-related incidents on service quality, and to improve the day-to-day operations of the Barclaycard services. Overall purpose of role:
Providing Change Management support which plays a vital role in managing the successful delivery of Change to the Bank, whilst maintaining the stability and protection of Barclays' IT services.
· Supporting the delivery of Change for Barclaycard within Technology Delivery. Resource will work with colleagues at all levels to perform Change Management and provide Change guidance and support.
· Utilizing and developing skills in supporting the successful delivery of Change through applying appropriate controls, management and governance via the Change Process.
· Identifying and raising improvements to ensure an efficient and effective Change process whilst maintaining the rigor and governance required ensuring protection and stability of Service.
· Provide Change Management support to customers and stakeholders as required, specifically focusing on the support of the business cluster to which the role is aligned (Barclaycard).
Key Accountabilities and Skills required:
· Support the delivery of Change for the business cluster (Barclaycard)
· Support Change for the business cluster within the aggregate schedule.
· Support the delivery of Changes for the business cluster in line with the Change Management Process and within the defined area of responsibility.
o Identify Changes for delivery via the Change Process.
o Support amendments requested to the plan and schedule as required.
o Ensure risk and issue awareness for all Changes.
o Chair & Minute change meetings (CAB), as required.
o Review Changes and confirm readiness for implementation.
o Attend business cluster aligned CABs and support the Change approval outcome.
o Perform on-going review, maintenance and improvement of managed deviation agreements and leverage for efficient delivery of low risk Change.
o Support processes governing the approval of Business and Emergency change.
o Attend Post Incident Reviews (PIRs) for Change related Incidents.
o Establish and maintain relationships with all of the required stakeholders.
· Control (including Governance & Risk (c5%)
· Adhere to Policies & Standards appropriate to the role – outlined in the Code of Conduct and mandatory training. Will also be required to ensure that all risks identified are managed as per Risk Framework procedures, ensure risk events (incidents) and control failures are investigated, reported, fixed and/or escalated to prevent reoccurrence. In instances where role holder is an owner of a key control, they will be required to provide supporting records to demonstrate regular review and maintenance.
· Support the continuous development of the Change Management function and process
· Champion the use of Change Management technical standards, procedures and best practice.
· Solicit feedback on all aspects of the Change Process from stakeholders.
· Develop productive working relationships with other related functions (e.g. Configuration and Asset Management, Incident, Problem, etc.).
· Generate, Review and verify Management Information (MI).
· Work as an effective team member, to ensure the team is effectively positioned to meet demands.
· Support the work of members of the management team as appropriate.
· Support audit preparation and field work as necessary
Candidate Profile
o Understanding of Barclays Incident, Problem and Change & Release processes.
o Knows what risk issues should be communicated, when, and to whom.
o Knows where and who to contact for expert support in solution / decision making process.
o Seek ways to understand, mitigate or reduce risks, drawing on expert advice, risk assessment and management reports.
o Adopts tactical approach when identifying solutions to customer problems.
o Develops and maintains relationships with new stakeholders / customer groups.
o Successfully communicates with stakeholders / colleagues to gain support.
o Maintains a regular dialogue with team & colleagues in difficult situations.
o Identifies customer satisfaction gaps through regular communication.
o Demonstrates initiative and competence.
o Flexible and adaptable to a variety of tasks.
o Be responsible for own learning and development.
o Experience of working in a team environment.
o Able to communicate effectively – both orally and in writing.
o Ability to work under own initiative.
o COBIT, or similar process framework certification or formal training.
o Can describe phases, activities and checkpoints of iCompass / SDLC / Agile methodology.
o Has general knowledge with some detailed knowledge of products / functions outside of day to day area supported.
o Understands major internal support functions and services.
o Can describe local hardware, software and application components
Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Your Skills and Qualifications will include
o Basic Qualifications
o Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.
o ITIL v3 Foundation Certified.
o Experience in delivering change into ITIL based organizations with experience of full service operations lifecycle preferably using PRINCE or other industry practice.
o Has prior experience of Chairing CAB meetings.
o Has good understanding of Change Management principles and the processes required for supporting them.
o Able to interpret and apply policies and standards.
o Contributes to the development and implementation of standards and procedures.
o Preferred Qualifications
o Credit Card domain experience
o Knowledge of audit and control tools, techniques and practices.
o Knowledge of process for deployment of new or enhanced applications into production.
o Has knowledge of Incident and Problem management disciplines.
o Has knowledge of the Service Desk and Incident systems.
o Understands SLAs and how they are used to measure service delivery.
o Has experience with tracking the flow of documents and processes.
o Has experience in developing and maintaining reference documents.
o Familiar with documentation standards, guidelines and best practices.
o Has an awareness of one or more of the components in the technology strategy.
