Barclays UK Risk is part of Barclays UK organization, responsible to manage risk across products for the Community, Premier, Wealth UK and Business segments.
About Risk Measurement
Risk Measurement is the unit responsible to produce analyses on impairment, capital, as well as carrying out forecasting, stress testing and risk appetite activities. Among the main tasks there is also the management of the regular impairment and RWA calculation and reporting processes, following internal and regulatory policies and frameworks.

Overall purpose of role
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the production of impairment and capital forecasts, risk appetite, and stress tests. The role implies working across three different logical layers.
· Data: the colleague will have deep knowledge of the most appropriate data sources to carry out risk measurement analyses. In this context, it is expected that robust knowledge is built in terms of impairment and capital datasets, as well as ideas are advanced to streamline data sourcing/segmentation/selection and data quality assessment to lead to optimization of activities within the team
· Analysis: the colleague will demonstrate ability in structuring analyses and test hypotheses accurately from data. It is also expected that in this role, the colleague will be able to design, develop and implement enhancements to the current forecasting status quo, through automation and strengthening of analytical tools used to accomplish goals of the area
· Presentation: the colleague will provide clear and concise presentations of her/his findings and recommendations to management in terms of impairment and capital prediction, incorporated in official plans, stress tests and risk appetite analyses.
At AVP level, the colleague will demonstrate robust analytical skills, with strong technical skills and knowledge of fundamentals of credit risk management in the lending industry, specifically in the impairment and capital management disciplines. The colleague will demonstrate scope to develop managerial and leadership skills, around presentation, communication of results/findings and management of stakeholders and priorities.
Desired profile
Key Accountabilities
· Maintain knowledge of current impairment and capital policies and processes.
· Sustain the forecasting and risk measurement analytics operating rhythm across the data-processing-output flow.
· Produce impairment and capital forecasts (RAF, STP, MTP, and ad-hoc outlooks), stress tests (regulatory or internal), risk appetite outputs, as well as forecast analyses on ad-hoc basis for Barclays UK products.
· Support Impairment team in data-driven analyses.
· Lead on monthly capital demand process, in the context of all relevant regulatory and internal policies, ensuring a correct implementation of approved models and intervening with adjustments where necessary.

It is expected that the candidate will manage communication flow from the Risk Measurement area out to the Stakeholders' teams, ensuring messages and results of analyses are understood and shared in a timely manner. Among the success factors, the candidate will demonstrate ability to

Decision-making and Problem Solving
The candidate is expected to deliver results across several domains. She/he will focus on some of the following responsibilities, where specific skills and decision making abilities are needed.
· Lead the monthly capital process: ensure monthly capital outputs attain solid governance and control standards, and tie back to impairment processes.
· Manage the capital adjustment process: lead and implement the monthly capital adjustment process.
· Deliver official forecasts (RAF, STP, MTP) for impairment and capital, through a structured data flow process, following key steps:
· reconciliation analysis with the impairment and capital actual start point;
· adherence to a clearly documented methodology, including list of assumptions, inputs, drivers and management adjustments/overlays;
· output production, including presentation to management following robust material structure and lay-out standards;
· correction and fine-tuning results on the basis of comprehensive feedback received by stakeholders;
· provision of final results into formats required for final data incorporation in Finance systems.
· Deliver stress tests (regulatory and internal) for impairment and capital, adhering to internal policies, and adopting a structured approach:
· requirement analysis of end-to-end task and resource capacity planning;
· assessment of usability of forecasting tools vs. stress test macro-economic scenario, proposing changes/enhancements if needed;
· preparation of data flow architecture to comply with requirements and pass validation and reconciliation tests;
· execution of stress test process, through governance framework as per internal standards;
· output presentation and review follow up management.
· Produce capital outlook to sustain capital management activities in the organization, with participation to appropriate meetings when necessary.
· Manage the risk appetite cycle: methodology design, implementation, calculation and consumption monitoring
· Return ad-hoc impairment and capital analyses to support tailored requests from stakeholders, as well as to provide ground data for impairment team coordinating with the resources within Risk Measurement team and outside if necessary. Examples of outputs include, among others:
· actual-forecast variance analyses;
· capital adjustment sizing;
· support to impairment analyses (data provision);
· ad-hoc segment impairment and capital outlooks;
· deliver on ad-hoc regulatory requests.
