Overall purpose of role:

IB Reference data are the custodians of Client, Account, Reference, data management including but not limited to:
·  External data sourcing
·  Date cleanse, scrub, clean and normalisation
·  Golden Record creation and maintenance
·  Distribution
·  Ownership of the Data Entity Standards
The data provisioned supports the Investment Bank, Corporate Bank, BWA and some channels to Personal and Barclaycards businesses.

The IB Reference Data team is responsible for maintaining data related to client data, legal entity data including settlement instructions and confirmation

Account & SSI is a global team responsible for the setup and maintenance of client's trading accounts for Barclays Capital. Once clients are approved for trading by KYC, Compliance, and Legal, the team sets up the client accounts in the respective trading systems based on the products that the client intends to trade with the firm. Settlement Instructions are also a component of the data the team maintain. Both account and settlement information must be maintained accurately and timely to ensure no reputational or financial risk to the firm. The team works closely with teams in Sales, Middle Office, Credit and Compliance as well as with external vendors such as Omgeo. The Account & SSI team is a critical milestone in the client on –boarding process.

Each of these teams is a key player to the seamless execution of business with Barclay's clients and ensuring we meet all the relevant regulatory requirements associated with client and trade reporting.

Key challenges for the core teams revolve around a rapidly changing regulatory environment, integration of work streams and legacy systems, and emphasis on increasing controls and minimizing risks in a manual environment whilst covering multiple product offerings.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

The main responsibility of this role is to provide support, control and oversight to our 3rd party provider, currently based in Chennai, India through service level measurement and key control standards. The role holder will be required for different shift patterns between the hours of 9am till 10pm to communicate across global time zones to a wide variety of colleagues and stakeholders across the Investment Bank group and will be required to facilitate issue resolution and be pro-active in their approach to their area of responsibility. Duties will also include detailed issue analysis & validation of changes including process improvement and re-engineering where appropriate.

The individual will be responsible for the interpretation of non-routine queries, problem solving, investigating and progressing complex queries escalated by the team and other stakeholders. Responding to administrative issues, including those that are non-routine issues.

As appropriate to their specific designation, the role holder will be responsible for supporting the supervision of their teams day to day activities, ensuring that they are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This will include oversight of checklists and internal controls; fostering a strong risk management culture within the team.

The role holder will manage relationships with Front office, Middle Office, Third Party Providers, Change the Bank, IT, Credit, Finance and RiskRisk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
