About BSM Treasury Operations
The job holder will sit within the Barclays Group Service Company supporting the BI (Barclays International) & BUK (Barclays UK) entities.
The holder of the role will have an excellent knowledge of the firm's booking and operational systems
What will you be doing?
Execution 75%
•The QRM data set represents ‘one source of the truth', with the total dataset being the entire balance sheet.
On the critical path within the monthly process are a set of key controls. One of these controls is a full reconciliation to the banks finance general ledger (GL).
The job holder will review the current controls processes, design and implement improvements, and liaise closely with the Finance teams to understand detailed GL mappings.
•Ensure all QRM models are reconciled within an agreed timeline, with known breaks explained, timelines and plans for fixes to known breaks articulated and agreed,
and unknown breaks investigated with finance and cluster IT teams.
•Present results to 2nd line NTMR (non traded market risk) team for monthly sign off.
•Work with other members of BSM Treasury Operations to ensure full understanding of the process and results, and to ensure a sustainable process is embedded in the monthly run book
Projects 10%
•QRM data is used as an input to Polaris for balance sheet submissions. The job holder will work with Group ALM to ensure all balance sheets use QRM data,
utilising their understanding of the finance GL mappings
Stakeholder Management: 15%
•The successful applicant will liaise closely with upstream and downstream stakeholders, including Finance teams, Polaris Program, IT teams and the
recipients of the full reconciliation process.
What we're looking for:
•Solid background in financial general ledger systems •
•Strong communication skills
•Good numeric ability and analytical skills
•Ability to explain complex ideas in simple language to the stakeholders
•Good working knowledge of Microsoft office application
Understanding and appreciation of IRRBB and ALM
