Barclays Data Architecture – Business Intelligence Platforms

The Business Intelligence Platforms team provide platforms for strategic Business Intelligence technologies used across Barclays. Our team members are based in the UK, USA and India supporting reporting, analytics and visualization tooling currently being delivered to over 30 thousand colleagues as well as external consumers. We provide Business Intelligence infrastructure, administration and support services across various BI platforms including QlikView, QlikSense, SAP Business Objects, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Tibco SpotFire.

Overall purpose of role: L1/2 Support focused across our strategic BI technologies including SAP Business Objects, QlikView and Microsoft SSRS. Role will also be engaged with Infrastructure upgrade, expansion and maintenance projects.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

o L1 and L2 Support role covering

· SAP Business Objects 3 & 4

· QlikView 11 & 12

· QlikSense

· Microsoft SSRS

o Contributing maintaining appropriate service level to stakeholders

o Decision making and problem solving. Critical to the success of this position is the ability to show evaluative judgement and analytical skills. Problems are often highly complex and require engagement with stakeholders, teams throughout the Barclays group and software vendors. Thus this requires;

o A Strong work ethic with ability to handle high pressure situations with minimum direction

o A Team player, with proven ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines

o Ability to diagnose and resolve complicated issues/problems in aggressive timeframes

o Ability to enhance existing systems and process to improve service to user base

o Stakeholder interaction. The role will involve interaction directly with stakeholders, typically in challenging situations thus requires a technically proficient individual with the ability to provide clear guidance and troubleshooting working directly with users across Business Intelligence topics.

o Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include

o Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

· Relevant years' experience delivering Business Intelligence Platforms Admin and/or Developing solutions to include one of;

o SAP Business Objects

o QlikView

o Microsoft SSRS

· Extensive experience with installation, configuration and system architecture of BI Platforms

· Windows Server administration

· Migration of content through environments, creating connections, folders and users rights (QMC/CMC experience)

· Strong communication skills – both written and verbal

· A Strong work ethic with ability to handle high pressure situations with minimum direction

· A Team player, with proven ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines

· Ability to diagnose and resolve complicated issues/problems in aggressive timeframes

o Preferred Qualifications*

· Additionally any experience with other BI Technologies such as;

o Tibco Spotfire

o QlikSense

o IBM Cognos

o Tableau

o Oracle BI

o Microstrategy

o Actuate

· Business Intelligence development experience

· Dashboard/Report/Universe/Script design

· Knowledge of Database and datawarehousing concepts

· Experience of Cloud based BI solutions
