Job Title: Software Developer

Locations: Poole

Department: Corporate Technology Operations

Overall Purpose of Role

· Provision of L2 application support

· Implementation and off-office support

· Low Level Design and Development

· Stakeholder management

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

· Regular interaction with Design team for on-going design changes

· Joining defect calls and providing updates

· Schedule calls with stakeholders to get signoff on low level design docs and address their comments/concerns

· Arranging call or walkthrough with design or requirement team.

· Assigning task to developer and reviewing it.

· Development, UT, and IUT

· Highlighting risk identified in given solution to Application designer and requirement team.

· Guiding the team in actual implementation.

· Make sure code goes through SDLC process.

· Identifying if it is our defect or other component defect.

· Analysing if defect is as designed.

· Giving training to team on coding standards

· Giving inputs to development team on defect.

· Incident management

· Problem management

Risk and Control : All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include

· Must have extensive knowledge of the development lifecycle and variety of technologies.

· Must have worked on C++

· Experience within Banking and/or Financial services

· Exposure and experience working on payments projects, applications and development

· Must have basic knowledge on database and creating performance tuned SQL queries.

· Must have basic knowledge on unix and scripting language.

· Must have extensive understanding of defect management processes and tools

· Would be ideal to have knowledge of the financial sector, specifically Global Payments

· Must have extensive and varied experience of managing multiple stakeholders with differing levels of technical/testing comprehension
