Internet Channels is responsible for a wide range of Internet facing services across Business Technology Service Operations (BTSO). We are responsible for some of the banks critical Tier 1 & 2 services, which include MyBarclays, Wealth Online Banking and various public websites including Barclays.co.uk

The Internet Application Management team are the core function that underpins some of banks most critical customer facing services.
Overall purpose of role
Work with the AM Lead and key stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach and management of the ITIL Service Management functions/processes across multiple product areas by supporting critical applications within the Internet Channels area.
Key Accountabilities
· Timely resolution of Incidents raised against the MyBarclays (Retail Online Banking) service.
· Investigation of long standing issues on the Problem Backlog.
· Support Service Management and business stakeholders in addressing live service issues.
· Participate in all activities related to the operations of the Banks production applications related to a number of related product areas.
· Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Management, Service / Application Introduction, Application Continuity Management, Availability Management, Capacity Management, Application / Service Level Management, Demand Management, Continuous Application Improvement Planning
· Utilise the Barclays GRBT defined best practices, standards and tools in application delivery, documentation and support.
· Support the planning and deployment of Product changes for each application release.
· Contribute service improvement ideas for products within scope
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Manage client expectations and demands proactively while maintaining good client relationships, working closely with the GRBT Product Development managers to ensure effective application development and delivery, whilst maintaining application stability.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
· Participate in the resolution of all Incidents relating to the relevant product area, to return product service to customers as quickly as possible.
· Investigation of root cause and identification of fixes for items on the Problem Backlog.

Person Specification
· Understanding customer needs and priorities to providing quality services.
· Experience in creative problem solving and successfully executing tasks.
· Experience in explaining, advocating and expressing facts and ideas in a variety of settings both orally and in writing.
· End-to-end software development lifecycle
· Strong OO Design Skills
· Software development methodologies, e.g. waterfall, agile
· Good understanding of Test Driven Development (essential) and Behaviour Driven Development (preferred)
· Awareness of leading-edge tools, techniques and services within IT
· Ability to work with an existing body of code (maintenance, feature additions, debugging, etc).
· Excellent debugging/analysis/investigation skills.
· Ability to work in a cross-platform environment (Windows XP/Vista/7, MacOS, AIX, Linux).
· Knowledge of Object Orientated Programming and associated concepts.
· Programming exposure / experience (Objective C, Java, C, C++).
· Good understanding of Databases and related concepts.
· Should have sound knowledge of HTML and associated Web Technologies.
· Software development consisting of some of the following languages and technologies:
· Java
· Webservices / knowledge of WSDL
· XML & JSON
· Javascript/JQuery
· o Version Control Software (SVN / GIT/ CVS)
· • Continuous Integration (Hudson/Jenkins)
