Local Regulatory Reporting & Tax Technology is a global team responsible for the design, development and maintenance of applications supporting the mandatory Regulatory and Tax functions of Barclays across clusters in US, Europe and APAC. Its primary mission is to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of global and local reporting architecture to allow our Business stakeholders to have a sustained competitive advantage through technology.

The team supports the following functions:

• Reporting on Financials, Statistics, Risk, Capital, Liquidity and Funding requirements to the PRA, EBA, BoE, FED, SEC, FINRA and local regulators in APAC (over 20 regulators in 10 countries)

• Various global and local Tax functions (VAT, Risk, Compliance, Employment and Wealth, Forecasting) and reporting

• FATCA (US and Global requirements such as Crown Dependencies and Common Reporting Standards)

• Definition and development of the Regulatory Reporting strategy and the associated technology solutions for Functions

Overall purpose of role:

Reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager, the Application Developer will be accountable for development, testing, deployment and reporting of the development activities across a number of reporting solutions for different APAC sites supporting bank's regulatory function within Finance. With a heavy emphasis on technical and communication skills, the person will be expected to work closely with other developers, Business Analysts, Architects and Project Managers across all regions and clusters to develop robust design and technical solutions in a controlled, transparent and actively risk managed fashion. Primary responsibilities of the candidate will cover, but not limited to:

· Working with other developer, Business Analysts, Architects and Project Manager to develop efficient solutions using primarily Oracle 11g, SQL, PLSQL, Informatica, PERL.

· Actively participating in developing designs, peer reviews and support testing activities including User Acceptance Testing, System Integration Testing and Performance Testing

· Supporting other teams in deploying the solution to LIVE including warranty period

Main Duties

Design:

· Interpret and understand functional specifications

· Write technical design documents adhering to predefined standards

· Responsible for the design of new components

· Liaise with the Design authority to ensure all components fit within the design principles

Code:

· Develop/maintain applications using primarily Oracle 11g, SQL, PLSQL, Informatica, Perl

· Ensure that code written meets the organisation and SDLC standards

Quality Assurance:

· Conduct peer reviews and provide constructive feedback

· Deliver defect free code and participate in root cause analysis to prevent defect in future

Testing:

· Create test cases and test the solution

· Provide support during SIT, UAT and Performance Testing

· Participate in diagnosis and resolution of defects found during SIT, UAT and other test phases

Deployment:

· Support UAT and Production deployment activities

· Coordinate between change/deployment teams during deployment of solution.

· Support post implementation testing

· Play a role of POC during Warranty support period

Communication

· Communicate directly with business analysts and project managers, understanding detailed business requirements at all stages of the development lifecycle

· Communicate effectively with business users to gain an in-depth understanding of new requirements and enhancements

· Communicate effectively with the other external IT development teams and the local delivery manager.

· Work closely with global development team members and participate and contribute to technical discussions
