Job Purpose
The Acquisition Banker is responsible for actively pursuing sales growth (volume and value) and service delivery competitiveness by:
Key Responsibilities
· Identify, research, create a target list for potential new clients for sourcing and engaging with new clients.
· Owning & deliver on all performance targets for the allocated portfolio of external sales activities (full accountability).
· Proactively identifying external sales opportunities and pursuing new clients using multiple lead generation techniques.
· Plan and conduct education on Absa's value proposition to customers in support of sales and migration targets within the area.
· Identifying opportunities and represent Absa on external sales engagements within assigned areas.
· Improving overall Absa performance through the identification of sales, cross sell opportunities and active engagement and partnership with colleagues.
· Actively building networks and relationships within the assigned area and promote Absa visibility across the region.
· Deliver sales and service delivery targets within the assigned areas of responsibility.
· Actively attract new to bank clients in targeted segments.
· Actively unlock sales opportunities through effective relationship management and follow through by converting these opportunities to sales.
· Proactively and appropriately interface across business units within the Region to identify opportunities for external sales.
· Actively plan sales calls based on customer configuration & call cycle requirements.
· Actively monitor and take accountability for own sales and service performance across the region or area and proactively identify opportunities to improve sales and service delivery.
· Proactively engage customers on needs as well as products and services and then enable the delivery of an end to end client solution.
· Implement a holistic service and customer experience for all clients aligned to the overall external sales team process and methodology.
· Participate in client engagement routines (planned visits) for improved sales and service delivery.
· Identify and prospect future potential clients turning leads into real business opportunities.
· Provide relevant and insightful feedback to product and performance teams on initiative mechanics and client feedback to drive enhancements in sales and service.
· Proactively network & research to stay current on key areas of expertise.
· Plan and execute External Sales activity by liaising closely with team members.
· Ensure the organization Is representative of the markets we serve and embrace team diversity as a competitive advantage.
· Drive proactive compliance & risk management in all external sales and service delivery activity.
· Actively coach, educate and develop customers on products and services within the assigned portfolio.
· Act as a brand ambassador for the Absa business in all community activity.
· Proactively engage in social responsibility and citizenship initiatives

Desired profile
Minimum Requirements
· Business related Bachelor's degree or equivalent NOF level 6 qualification, recognised by the FSB for FAIS purposes
· Must have obtained the RE5 level 1 regulatory qualification
· At least three (3) years retail sales experience in the financial services industry
· Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
· No criminal record
Preferred Requirements
· Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
