Job description
The purpose of the role is to ensure that credit applications and dealer approvals are of an acceptable risk and appropriate quality and that it conforms to Absa Credit's lending policy and that the applications are timeously packaged and approved. To support the front end sales teams short and long term objectives and deal with a range of credit requests even in the absence of the Business Development Officer.
Key responsibilities
· Liaise with Business Development Officer (BDO) or Relationship Executive (RE) and clients to understand the process or requirements of credit applications for all clients concerned
· Conduct research on the industry in which the client operates
· Perform robust financial and non financial analysis on the client
· Make use of clients' historical data to forecast the clients potential growth and sustainability
· Structure a commercial asset finance lending solution for the client
· Compile a proposal which summarises, the clients' background and commercial asset finance needs, the research findings and the final recommendations
· Facilitate the commercial asset finance credit sanctioning process
· Produce relevant management information and manage exposures including the maintenance of the relevant systems
· Pro-actively manage credit risks associated with the commercial asset finance importation transactions
· Compile commercial asset finance reviews, amendments and new applications to the appropriate lending authorities
· Request valuations on movable and immovable assets
· Gather financial information to support application from client
· Sign the asset based finance credit agreements with customers and provide advice regarding the agreements
· Utilise applicable software to assess client financial information and submit financials through to Remote Balance Sheet Extraction Unit (RBEU)
· Monitor credit lines on a continuous basis and ensure formal reviews at specified time intervals or arrange extension
· Ensure all Bank's credit policies and philosophy are fully complied with at all times
· Ensure adherence to Absa Business Bank Credit Policy and other relevant legislation
· Ensure adherence to commercial asset finance target market criteria and that all deviations is suitably addressed and mitigated against
· Communicate to RE and BDO Consultants the credit committee's decision either through e-mail or a written document where required
· Provide weekly status report to the Regional Managers indicating completed, work-in-progress and pending credit applications as well as approval ratio

General
The appointment will be made in line with the Absa Employment Equity strategy
Minimum requirements
· B Degree in Accounting or equivalent NQF level 6 FAIS or higher qualification with Accounting III or higher.
· RE 5 level 1 regulatory examinations passed
· Three (3) years experience in financial statement analysis in a credit environment
· Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
· No criminal record
Preferred requirements
· Honours Degree in Accounting or equivalent NQF Level 7 or higher qualification
· RE 5 level 1 regulatory examinations passed
· Credit Risk Assessment experience
· Vehicle and asset finance experience
· Preference will be given to South African citizens and permanent residents of South Africa with proof of permanent resident status
