Job description

This position provides an opportunity for motivated sales people to form part of an energising drive that will confirm ABSA as the “Go-to” bank in South Africa.

The Acquisition Banker is responsible for actively pursuing sales growth (volume and value) and service delivery competitiveness by:

· Owning & Deliver on all performance targets
· Improving overall Absa performance through the identification of sales, cross sell opportunities, network building and active engagement and partnership with colleagues
Key responsibilities
· Deliver sales and service delivery targets within the assigned areas of responsibility
· Deliver sales growth in targeted segments by driving and converting external sales opportunities
· Actively attract new to bank clients in targeted segments
· Actively unlock sales opportunities through effective relationship management and ensure follow-through by converting these opportunities to sales
· Proactively and appropriately interface across business units within the Region to identify opportunities for external sales
· Provide sales opportunity leads for new workplace banking schemes to Business Banking and Corporate Banking Colleagues
· Take Accountability for end to end fulfilment of workplace banking schemes
· Proactively identify cross sell opportunities
· Actively monitor and take accountability for own sales and service performance across the region or area
· Proactively engage customers on needs as well as products and services and then enable the delivery of an end to end client solution
· Proactively resolve client queries and concerns
· Participate in client engagement routines (planned visits) for improved sales and service delivery
· Implement external sales campaigns and initiatives in partnership with the performance team and relevant HO centres of excellence
· Provide relevant and insightful feedback to product and performance teams on initiative
· Proactively resolve client queries and concerns
· Ensure customer regulation implementation within the assigned portfolio
· Deliver against customer experience and service standards across assigned portfolio
· Translate customer feedback into actionable insights
· Plan and execute External Sales activity by liaising closely with team members
· Monitor Sales Team Performance and support peers towards performance improvement
· Identify process efficiencies and share best practices in the external sales team
· Drive proactive compliance & risk management
· Actively coach, educate and develop customers on products and services within the assigned portfolio
· Implement effective governance & controls in all aspects of sales and service delivery for the portfolio
· Keep updated on all regulatory requirements and changes
· Encourage responsible citizenship and community involvement through aligned external sales and service activity
· Act as a brand ambassador for the Absa business in all community activity

General

The appointment will be made in line with the Absa Employment equity strategy

Minimum requirements
· A Business related Bachelor's degree or equivalent NOF level 6 qualification, recognised by

the FSB for FAIS purposes, as a minimum qualification

· Must have obtained the RE5 level 1 regulatory qualification
· At least three (3) years retail sales experience in the financial services industry
Preferred requirements

Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa with proof of permanent resident status
