The mortgage product team are responsible for ensuring that appropriate new business and existing customer products are in place to optimise financial performance against operating plan targets within agreed risk limits and processing capacity giving due regard to all aspects of Conduct Risk. The team also undertake responsibility for error free delivery of products and ongoing management, in-depth competitor analysis, on-going management information and input into product/criteria developments and enhancements. The role requires an in-depth knowledge of the UK mortgage market and trends, distribution dynamics and the regulatory environment. Accuracy, attention to detail, an ability to think creatively and contribute ideas are requirements for this position.This position is available as a result of maternity cover and is required to support the continued growth in business and ensure that the product team are able to meet the needs of delivering more products more frequently.
This role is a 12 months fixed term contract
Key responsibilities
· Monitoring financial performance (Volumes, Margins, Mix and Credit limits) against Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives and making recommendations to remediate any variance to required performance or improve financial returns.
· Research competitor product pricing, criteria and propositions at company and distributer level to identify and communicate threats or opportunities.
· Analyse market conditions and identify and communicate pricing or criteria changes and trends in activity.
· Maintain an effective working knowledge of the prevailing and impending regulatory environment, responsibilities, and threats and opportunities this presents giving particular regard to Treating Customers Fairly.
· Maintenance of product pricing tools and P&P`s.
· Product Pricing and range compilation for all channels served
· Manage product delivery and withdrawal process to ensure only appropriately mandated products are available to customers and products are delivered/withdrawn within agreed time-frames.
· Essential key requirements
· Expert knowledge of the Mortgage Market and Distribution ideally gained within a marketing or sales environment.
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Good verbal and numeric reasoning skills.
· Good organisational skills.
· Abiliy to conduct quality research and present findings.
· Desirable key requirements
· C-Map qualified
· 2 or more years mortgage marketing/product management experience in B2B and B2C environments
· Advanced level Excel and Powerpoint skills
