The Financial Crime & Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Risk Manager is a role, part of Consumer Banking Governance & Risk team in BOIUK. The role is responsible for working across all Consumer Banking (CB) products to develop processes and controls, to monitor the effectiveness of key metrics to manage Financial Crime & AML risk. Thus ensuring the implementation of and compliance with all BOIUK, Group Policies and associated internal standards across Consumer Banking UK (CBUK). As well as to ensure that all units are aware of the key Financial Crime risks.

The role holder is required to build positive effective relationships with key stakeholders within CBUK, developing their understanding of key Financial Crime & AML risks and influencing decisions to ensure compliant behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Provide expertise, advice and guidance on Financial Crime & AML issues;
·  Participation in strategic and operational project teams;
·  Ensure an effective risk assessment and reporting framework is in place to support CBUK;
·  Working and communicating with all stakeholders;
·  Complete Risk Monitoring and Assurance Reporting;
·  Event management;
·  Provide sign off on business unit policy & procedures.

Essential Requirements:

·  Graduate calibre with at least five years background in financial services;
·  Experience and awareness of a variety of consumer banking products;
·  At least three years extensive experience in a Financial Crime & AML risk role for consumer products;
·  Ability to analyse information and apply logical thinking to identify the key issues and points;
·  Self-starter who is used to working autonomously with minimum supervision;
·  Able to communicate with all levels of the organisation;
·  Ability to provide intellectual rigor to business controls monitoring and risk assessment, development of business solutions and decision making;
·  Practical experience of Financial Crime risks, controls and issues within financial services or consumer banking;
·  ICA Diploma in Financial Crime Prevention (or equivalent qualification in Financial Crime/AML);
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Requirements:

·  Experience of dealing with complex problems;
·  Commercial and organisational awareness;
·  Experience in a Quality Assurance/testing environment;
·  Project Management;
·  Experience in Financial Crime/AML systems (for example WorldCheck).
·  Willingness to study towards industry qualifications and attend industry events.
