Vetronics Engineer
Would you like to play a key role in the design and development of armoured vehicles for the military? We currently have a vacancy for a Vetronics Engineer at our site in Telford.
As a Vetronics Engineer, you will be working within Post-Design Services as part of a small team, primarily with the integration of electrical/electronic subsystems onto armoured vehicles. You will also be responsible for validating and interrogating changes, improvements, installation design and obsolescence upgrades to specification and requirements.
This role will provide you with a varied and challenging range of day-to-day activities, as well as the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and cutting-edge defence programmes in the UK.
Your main responsibilities as a Vetronics Engineer will involve:
Vetronics design and integration at the system and sub-system level
Producing specifications and designs which fulfil contractual requirements and contribute to cost-effective solutions
Requirements management and production of technical specifications
Managing technical issues with customers and suppliers
Acceptance and verification testing of systems
Taking consideration of safety, risk, reliability and maintainability associated with the technical solution, in conjunction with subject matter experts
Your skills and qualifications as a Vetronics Engineer:
Essential:
Degree/HND or equivalent qualification or experience within an Electrical/Electronic or closely related discipline
Demonstrable experience within the design and/or integration of electrical/electronic systems
OR
Relevant electrical/electronic installation experience gained from an army/combat vehicles related role
Desirable:
Experience with combat vehicles and knowledge of defence standards
