2nd/3rd Line Triage Engineer

Would you like to ensure software tools supporting the Royal Navy are working effectively and efficiently? We currently have a vacancy for a 2nd/3rd Line Triage Engineer at our site in Broad Oak. The role sits within Information Knowledge Management (IKM) – the IT arm of Maritime Services.

As a 2nd/3rd Line Triage Engineer, you will be delivering solution triage support (software and data) to meet internal priorities and contractual obligations. You will be supporting UMMS and Titanium tools. UMMS is used by the Royal Navy to predict the life and stats of parts and systems on board ships. Titanium pulls together multiple and varying data sets and provides them back to the user in one dashboard, helping to make real-time decisions.

This varied role will provide you with the chance to work with a diverse set of customers and stakeholders. By having direct contact with the customer, your understanding of customer requirements will greatly improve.

Your main responsibilities as a 2nd/3rd Line Triage Engineer will involve:

Conducting initial triage support and 2nd line systems support

Liaising with the Systems Development and Test teams

Liaising with customer support authorities

Issuing data correction updates

Your skills and qualifications as a 2nd/3rd Line Triage Engineer:

Essential:
Experience of supporting MS SQL, Oracle, Java
Evidence of strong analytical skills

Desirable:
Knowledge of object orientation in theory
HNC/HND in engineering, scientific, computing or numerate disciplines
