Typhoon Simulator Instructor Pilot

We are currently recruiting for a Typhoon Simulator Instructor Pilot. Based at RAF Coningsby, you will be responsible for the provision of high quality synthetic training support and instruction to all Typhoon Squadrons and providing specialist support when required alongside the already established Synthetic Environment specialists.

You will be required to deliver synthetic events including SCT, emergency and IF training, and full operational mission support sorties. This will require you to retain a high level of knowledge of the Typhoon systems and of front line Typhoon tactics, doctrines and of all other friendly and threat weapon systems. You will also be required to deliver high quality training to the Typhoon Pilot Ground School. As an instructor you will be required to produce accurate, objective and well-reasoned subjective assessments of student performance and to design and deliver remedial exercises according to student needs. You will contribute to maintaining a strong Flight Safety culture throughout the Typhoon Training Facility.

Additionally, you will be required to augment the already established Synthetic Environment Specialist in the preparation of synthetic training missions on both the Aircrew Synthetic Training Aids (ASTA) and Emulated Deployable Cockpit Trainer (EDCT) suites of devices.

Your main responsibilities as a Typhoon Simulator Instructor Pilot will involve:

The provision of high quality pilot training support and instruction to all Typhoon Squadrons utilising network capable synthetic training devices.

The provision of Synthetic device technical and training expertise to constantly develop and evolve Typhoon training syllabi and scenario's to meet the customer's need.

Supporting the SE Specialist in the provision of high quality mission support to the Typhoon Simulator, including creation of realistic scenarios and models, and the management of several databases

Maintaining a focus on military ethos within Typhoon Training Facility.

Instilling and maintaining a strong Flight Safety culture throughout the TTF.

Maintaining currency and knowledge of RAF Typhoon Force SOP's and TOP's.

Accurate reporting to maintenance personnel of defects in Synthetic device equipment, and close liaison with maintenance personnel to ensure that the Synthetic devices replicate the performance, handling and modification states of the aircraft.

The accurate, objective and well-reasoned assessments of pilot performance and the production of written reports.

Your skills and qualifications as a Simulator Instructor Pilot:

Essential:

Former RAF fast jet aircrew experience

Instructional experience

Desirable:

Recent cockpit experience

Typhoon and Simulator instructional experience

Multi Role background

Experience of LINUX/UNIX, MS-DOS, XML and networking .

Understanding of databases, particularly Oracle .
