Trainee Production Technician

Would you like a chance to work in a state of the art electronics environment on both civil and military platforms? We currently have vacancies for Trainee Production Technicians at our site in Rochester.

As a Trainee Production Technician you will join our trainee scheme and spend twelve weeks developing your hand skills in preparation for deployment to one of our shop floor areas. The scheme is split into two key sections, class room and shop floor, training will be provided in both. On successful completion you'll be assigned to a cell or process area where more specific on job training can continue. During this phase we're looking to identify Trainee suitability predominantly towards fitting/build and/or wiring/soldering disciplines. These disciplines are key to our build lines where high standards come from paying attention to small detail.

BAE Technicians work with high technology on products such as Pilots Helmets, Head up Displays, Flight Control Computers and Sticks and Throttles.

Please be advised that assessment days for this position will take place on the week commencing 20 th August.

Your day to day responsibilities as a Trainee Production Technician will involve:

Housekeeping standards must be maintained to keep areas FOD free. Clean as you go and end of day tidying will be your responsibility

Where requested maintaining accurate written and electronic records are essential

Follow all instructions diligently to complete any work piece as instructed by tutor or coach

Ensure you meet or exceed any timescales set

Never guess or assume, ask if you're not sure and feedback any improvement ideas you identify

Your skills and qualifications:

GCSEs in Maths, English and 1 Science

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as being very thorough and detailed. You will be a team player with a can do attitude.
