Technical Stores Person

Would you like to work in a pivotal role within the Weapon Systems UK business area? We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Stores Person at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.

As a Technical Stores Person you will be responsible for the Technical Tool Store and the associated logistical processes. You will develop close working relationships within the operations function where you will provide full coverage of required tooling, consumables and services.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with various departments and engineers across the shop floor.

Your main responsibilities as a Technical Stores Person will involve:

Ensure consistent supply of tooling, consumables and PPE to operations.

Control and procurement of replenishable stock and ad-hoc requirements;

Operating a fork lift truck and manual handling equipment, ensuring required fork lift truck checks and routine basic maintenance are completed

Supporting and promoting safety, quality, delivery, cost and people

Ensuring stock levels are accurate both physically within stores areas and on IT system

Attain and deploy knowledge of required logistics tasks and processes within stores

Delivering a high level or order picking / dispatch accuracy

Communicate effectively and regularly with key operator / team members to ensure compliance to the customer and key targets / daily plan

Your skills and qualifications:

Working knowledge of ERP IT system an efficient with MS Office to include Excel and Outlook

Significant manual handling experience

Experience of an engineering/machining environment and associated requirements with knowledge of tooling and calibration

HNC in a relevant subject or equivalent experience

Demonstrable level of logistics experience at all levels would be advantageous

Experience of using SAP would be advantageous

You will be self-motivated, with good planning and organising skills. You must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, together with the ability to work well, both independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £28,433
