Technical Author

Would you like to maintain technical information in a busy manufacturing environment? We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Author at our site in Glascoed.

As a Technical Author, you will be required to produce and maintain technical documentation, manage and maintain technical databases and the up issue of manufacturing documentation to support the production schedule.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to progress within the business as we seek to integrate new members and develop the Technical Author role within Operations.

Your main responsibilities as a Technical Author will involve:

Developing a manufacturing safety documentation suite in accordance with Engineering and Business requirements to ensure compliance with statutory legislation

Reviewing and updating Standard Operational Procedures in line with Technical Authority instruction, periodically or on an ad hoc basis

Maintaining a manufacturing Safe Systems of Work database, and forecast periodic reviews of manufacturing documentation

Creating file structures in the technical document library and populating the files with all relevant technical information also act as first point of contact within Operations for technical library support.

Assisting in the compilation and development of Business Management System policies and procedures

Supporting capital acquisition and engineering proposals, to achieve operational improvements and financial benefits, initiating engineering change control

Your skills and qualifications as an Technical Author:

Experience working as a Technical Author in an engineering environment

Proficient in the use of MS Office

Sound understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures

Experience working with SAP would be desirable
