Systems Engineer
Would you like to start or continue your career in Systems Engineering, working with cutting edge technology to deliver a very complex, wide range of mission critical submarine functions? We currently have a vacancy for a Systems Engineer at our site in Frimley or Weymouth.
As a Systems Engineer you will be working alongside a large team of Engineers working on complex combat systems comprising several sub-systems including: Command and Control, Navigation, Underwater Sensors, Above Water Sensors, Communications and Weapons.
This role will give you an opportunity to work in a busy, interesting and challenging environment. You will be able to develop your skills and product knowledge to progress further within wider CS function.
Your main responsibilities as a Systems Engineer will involve:
Reviewing and managing Engineering Change requests
Requirements Development & Management through all stages of the lifecycle
Maintenance of requirements (held in DOORS)
Supporting our customers (MOD) and other key stakeholders
Developing and planning of Combat System verification and validation strategies and activities
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
HNC/ HND/ Degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline
Some knowledge of Systems Engineering Lifecycle Management methods, processes, tools and techniques
Desirable:
Experience of working with complex systems

You will have an interest in Systems Engineering and strong communications skills, both oral and written. You will be keen to learn and work confidently within a multi-discipline team.

Our Combat Systems team designs, builds, integrates and supports all of the submarine combat systems in the UK fleet – essentially, the eyes and ears of each platform. We provide through-life support for combat systems, sensors and radars, and deliver complex programmes and technologies by applying expert programme management and world-class engineering.
