Supply Chain Principal
Would you like to support the Type 26 Global Combat Ship class, due to be released into service in the early 2020's? We currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Principal at our site in Scotstoun. There also will be some travel to both the Filton and Portsmouth Naval Ships sites.
As a Supply Chain Principal, you will be using your Supply Chain expertise to deliver aid to the development of the Type 26 through life support solution.
This role will include the development of procurement / supply chain strategies & plans, and the associated engagement and management of suppliers, projects and other stakeholders to deliver project/business objectives.
Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain Principal will involve:
Co-ordinating the Procurement activities associated with Integrated Logistical Support, In-Service Support & through Life Costing, ensuring opportunities and benefits are identified early in the life cycle for the Type 26 Project
Producing the support inputs to the tender process, ensuring the support sections are coherent and appropriate for each Supplier
Managing the ITT process, including clarifications, negotiations, tender reviews and assessments
Ensuring that the Company's contractual position is protected throughout the life cycle whilst delivering acceptable performance
Your skills and qualifications as a Supply Chain Principal will ideally include:
HND/HNC or Degree Qualified in a Business or Engineering discipline or equivalent (or working towards)
Experience of multi-disciplined projects, risk and opportunity management, accounting and budgetary control
Experience in Project Management processes appropriate for the assigned projects
General IT skills combined with a broad but appropriate technical background, related to the role allocation and the entire lifecycle of the product (CADMID)
Experience of working within a Procurement / Supply Chain Department
Appreciation of lean tools / 6 sigma principles, SC21 and Relationship Management is desirable
CIPS qualification would be advantageous
