Supply Chain Assistant

Would you like to support the supply chain team in managing customer equipment and supplier deliveries on site? We currently have a vacancy within our Combat Systems business for a Supply Chain Assistant at our site in New Malden.

Combat Systems is an integral part of Naval Ships, providing naval combat systems solutions for its UK and international programmes. We pride ourselves on being a combat systems integrator, comprising integration of our own products and that of other defence companies.

As a Supply Chain Assistant, you will be responsible for the control, documentation, receipts, security and audit of all Customer equipment delivered on site. Currently our main customer is the Ministry of Defence ( MOD)

This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain varied Supply Chain experience and progress accordingly within the wider business. Supporting a range of projects, providing variety in the role and an opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders within the business both face to face and on the phone.

Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain Assistant will involve:

Ensuring that the annual stock take is undertaken and certificate is submitted to the customer by the agreed date

Submitting Quarterly and Annual Asset in Industry Reports to the customer by the required dates

Where there is a requirement to dispose of equipment, the applicable documentation will be raised for customer approval and instruction

Reviewing and updating inventory records for the customer equipment are correct

Raising Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) for Naval Ships projects at New Malden and other locations where there is no dedicated Goods Inwards facility

Providing all other Goods Inwards activities for Naval Ships for New Malden

Your skills and qualifications:

Experience in similar role would be preferred especially knowledge of defence standards
Experience managing MOD equipment desirable
Material handling /logistics knowledge is essential
Business administration experience - competent user of MS packages
Knowledge and experience of SAP is useful but not essential
