JOB PURPOSE

The job holder is responsible for the training and mentoring activities in respect to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) employees and is responsible for inspecting, operating, maintaining and repairing electronic, electro-mechanical, Hydraulic/Pneudraulic, and interface components on the Hawk Simulator and support equipment; thus ensuring delivery of simulator missions to accomplish the contractual operational commitments.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

The incumbent will be responsible of the following but not be limited to:

- The position holder will be accountable for ensuring that BAE Systems maintenance support is delivered effectively to meet RSAF requirements and mitigate any activities likely to prejudice maintenance or safety, whilst remaining within the constraints the RSAF may apply to the Hawk Simulator.

- Expedite efficient repair to restore Simulator assets to a serviceable condition, the prompt process of repairable components into the repair channel, and correct supply discipline.

- Ensure the procedural compliance governing Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system.

- Comply with processes that ensure all maintenance is carried out using the correct Technical Data; Instruction Manuals are verified upon the receipt of changes or revisions; and Locally Developed Publications (LDP) are devised and reviewed to maintain maintenance capability.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION



The candidate should possess the following skills:



Essential

- Be a graduate of a service or civilian technical training institute, or the Saudi National Technician Training Programme (SNTTP); or have completed a recognised apprenticeship and have worked in a modern Digital Flight Simulator.

- Have a sound knowledge of all aspects of simulator maintenance including, fault diagnosis and rectification of mainframe computers, printed circuit boards, AST linkage, visual generation and display systems, hydraulic systems, instructor operating facilities, electrical power and distribution systems, electronic analogue and digital systems, hydraulic – mechanical and electrical systems, air compression system, simulated instruments and components.

- Have a sound knowledge of simulated aircraft systems including Flight computing, engines, electrics, fuel, hydraulics, weapons delivery, radio aids and communications systems.

- Have a working knowledge of THALES (Singer Link Miles) Engineering Data Package, e.g. system diagrams; wire listings, software flow charts etc.

- Able to demonstrate problem solving abilities; and set and manage work direction in an ever changing environment, which must be done in a safe and effective manner to ensure procedural compliance without compromise to the simulator.

- Computer literacy is essential, with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

- A current driving licence

Desirable

- Preferred experience and formal training on Link Miles AST 6 Degree of Freedom Motion System, Fokker/ Link Miles Digital Control Loading System, Link Miles Functionally Distributed Simulation System (FDS), Simulator Management Computer, Front Fuselage Training Rig (CPT), Link Miles Image 3T Generation System, SRL Display System and Multimedia Computer Based Training System (MCBT) - Servers and Work Stations.
