Simulator Support Engineer - Sub-Surface Trainers (Maintainer)

Would you like to provide first line support and maintenance for Submarine Command Team Trainers to maintain the contracted level of trainer availability? We currently have a vacancy for a Simulator Support Engineer - Sub-Surface Trainers at our site in Clyde

As a Simulator Support Engineer - Sub-Surface Trainer, you will Build and maintain effective working relationships with RN and DE&S personnel onsite, providing advice to RN personnel and DE&S desk drivers on the operation of the training systems.

Your main responsibilities as a Simulator Support Engineer - Sub-Surface Trainer will involve:

Liaising with RN / MTAO PT / Babcock personnel on site. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
Providing advice to the RN training staff and desk drivers on the operation of the trainers.
Preparing trainers for use by the required time and reacting to and resolve detected and reported problems in the trainers within the contractual repair periods to ensure availability
Carrying out and record maintenance activities.
Undertaking data gathering investigations to support 2nd line diagnosis and correction
Providing support to the area manager for Administering Quality Assurance, Security Aspects and Health & Safety in accordance with the Contract requirements and Company policies, as required

Your skills and qualifications

Experience of fault finding and diagnosis
Maintain, repair and re-build PC systems
Customer Skills, understanding safety

Defence or Royal Navy background (Desirable)

Familiar with security, ITAR (Desirable)

Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) level qualification in Electrical Engineering, information systems or Computer Engineering Principles
