Quality Technician

Would you like to work in an ever-changing environment where no two days are the same? We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Technician at our site in Washington.

As a Quality Technician, you will be supporting the Quality Assurance Engineer's, ensuring that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and that product quality meets or exceeds the customer requirements.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work across the site within a variety of functions.

Your main responsibilities as a Quality Technician will involve:

Ensuring all health and safety instruction and to undertake any training or guidance as requested
Maintaining a measurement, inspection and calibration system
Measuring a range of products using 1st principle measurement techniques
Programming and using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) using PCDMIS software
Generating product inspection reports and carry out process capability studies
Calibrating a range of measurement, inspection and test equipment
Reporting quality issues to the relevant Quality Assurance Engineer or Manager
Engaging in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system such as Kaizen, 5S and other lean manufacturing techniques
Supporting the day to day manufacture of Washington products and the delivery of the Washington Manufacturing Schedule

Your skills and qualifications:

Time served quality technician or equivalent in a manufacturing industry
Working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
Computer literacy (database, spreadsheet, word processing)
An understanding of process capability studies and competent report writing skills
Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing

Location: Washington

Salary: £29k+ depending on experience
