Quality Assurance Engineer
Would you like to work within the BAE Systems Weapon Systems UK Business the home of the M777 Light Towed Howitzer. We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Assurance Engineer at our site in Barrow in Furness.
As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will be responsible for assisting with oversight of the Quality Assurance System (QAS) to ensure the company meets applicable regulatory, legal, and internal quality standards.
This role will give you the opportunity to work within the Supply Chain function based at our Barrow facility. You will be working in support of a broad spectrum of artillery reviewing and assuring components from both the internal and external supply chain
Your main responsibilities as a Quality Assurance Engineer will involve:
Management of Product Quality Complaints (PQC); receipt, recording, processing and analysis of submissions and responses.
Management of key quality systems: elements relating to direct production support such as the non-conformance system and change management.
Management of the root cause analysis process coordinating activity with Engineering, Operations and the relevant Project Management teams
Management of document control capability and ensure all documents filing and archiving systems are accurate, up to date and maintained in accordance with best practice.
Maintain company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) relevant for the QMS and Regulatory requirements.
Advanced knowledge and management of Quality Management Systems built on ISO9001/ AS9100.
In depth experience of electronic QMS is desirable, and the ability to learn and adapt to new software packages is essential.
Contribute to the annual Quality Management Reviews including quality system metrics.
Reviewing and management of contractual agreements, legal documents and correspondence
Your skills and qualifications:
Practical experience in a Quality Assurance role and in particular in the management of compliant quality systems is essential
Essential Knowledge: ISO9001/AS9100 QMS | ISO18001 OHSMS | ISO14001 EMS | BSEN9102 FAIR
Strong interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication essential, including the ability to write comprehensive technical reports
Practical experience in audit, audit management and change management is essential
Practical experience of running First Article Inspection programs for provision of process and product control
Desirable Knowledge: ISO27001 ISMS | ISO31000 RMS | ISO220301 BCM
Desirable Skills: BSc, MSc graduate in a science/engineering discipline preferably in a quality, scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education
