Project Engineer
Would you like to play a key role in the delivery of submarine projects for the Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
As a Project Engineer, you will be working across multiple submarine platforms to ensure successful delivery of all platform deliverables (known as the Datum Pack), as well as being involved in change management activities. You will be liaising with various stakeholders across the business to ensure that items on board the submarines are adequately tested, fit for purpose and meet the various quality and safety standards.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to progress within project management, within an interesting and varied role, where every day is different.
Your main responsibilities as a Project Engineer will involve:
Reporting to a Principal Project Engineer, supporting the creation, configuration control and delivery of all Datum Pack deliverables and Configuration Status Records (CSRs) against business or customer requirements
Working alongside Supply Chain to ensure that information returns are validated against the Technical Clauses; undertaking inspections of the physical equipment on board the submarine and on receipt into the business to ensure alignment with the supplied Technical Information (TI)
Working alongside the Logistic Support Information (LSI) and Support Engineering teams, ensuring that the required TI is available when required
Ensuring trackers and systems are kept up-to-date and producing progress reports and metrics, through attending various meetings and producing minutes of meetings, where required
Taking responsibility for the collation and delivery of non-core Datum Pack deliverables and liaising with other stakeholders as necessary
Your skills and qualifications as a Project Engineer:
Essential:
Background in one of the following areas: engineering/ quality/ fitter (or similar), gained from a complex engineering environment
Desirable:
Experience of project engineering/project management activities

Complex Systems and Support:
Complex Systems and Support (CS&S) is part of BAE Systems Submarines. We predominantly supply to the UK MoD but with smaller derivative work done in support of international Customers.
