Project Accountant

Would you like an exciting new opportunity working within the Real Estate Solutions business? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Accountant at our site in Preston.

As a Project Accountant, you will be provide project finance support to the programmes and disposals area of the business.

Real Estate Solutions is a division of the Shared Services business unit and provides a through life Real Estate model for BAE Systems and External Customers. Including Operational site management, rationalisation or site closure and site redevelopment or disposal.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in an interesting part of the business on a variety of different projects

Your main responsibilities as a Project Accountant will involve:

Assisting Project Managers with financial support from project start to end

Preparing of monthly Contract Status Review (CSR)/ Summary Status Review (SSR) working closely with project managers and the wider team

Project maintenance through ERP System (SAP)

Supporting preparation of forecasting / Risk and Opportunities and monthly cash reporting

Supporting Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process

Order book, Sales and Margin reconciliations

Managing billing process for areas of responsibility and Attend debt review & ensure aged debt is kept to a minimum and issued resolved in timely manner

Month end processes including journal postings (e.g. accruals & advances), Work in Progress (WIP) & Utilisation reporting

Reporting on overhead costs

Maintaining strong governance and control environment including compliance with Lifecycle

Management (LCM) and Quarterly Control Owner Self-Assessment (COSA) reviews

On-going SAP training/ support to PM's/ other non-financial users

Your skills and qualifications:

Prior Project Accounting experience, particularly Contract Status Reviews (CSR's) is desired but not essential

ACA, CIMA OR ACCA part or full qualified essential

Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Prior experience of SAP desirable

Salary: £34,501
