Procurement Professional

Would you like to play a highly varied role working in a busy environment in Submarine Solutions? We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Professional at our site in Barrow.

As a Procurement Professional, you will be responsible for supporting procurement activities within integrated project teams for the delivery of multiple cross-functional engagements. This role includes the development of procurement strategies and plans, supplier performance management and contract management initiatives.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to take part in making a positive difference on the whole boat programme as this role will be at the forefront of this development.

Your main responsibilities as a Procurement Professional will involve:

Have a sound understanding of and apply the Quality Management System documentation e.g. Policy, Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments etc. applicable to your particular work scope and to comply with Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) rules and control measures.

Support the development, review and update of relevant systems and processes to ensure the effective delivery of activities in assigned areas.

Support team members to self-verify work to ensure adherence to relevant business systems procedures, policies and processes. Provide guidance to enable the team to produce right first time information.

Develop, maintain and manage key relationships both internally and externally. Lead team members to promote effective cross functional collaboration and deliver procurement support and guidance to other functions as required

Contribute knowledge and experience to support Continuous Improvement and Learning from

Experience activity across the Supply Chain function.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential skills:

Supply Chain experience in a similar role

Experience of working on large contracts and negotiating terms and conditions

Proven track record of supporting stakeholder engagement within a highly regulated environment

Desired skills:

Experience of ERP Systems

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Experience of managing data and generating reports
