Procurement Practitioner

Would you like a highly varied role working in a challenging environment? We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Practitioner at our site in Barrow.

As a Procurement Practitioner, you will be responsible for procuring materials using the transactional process to meet the quality requirements at BAE Systems. Other duties include assisting with maintaining business and supplier relationships.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain professional experience with subject matter experts

Your main responsibilities as a Procurement Practitioner will involve:

Procure materials within budget using the Transactional Process to meet the technical and quality requirements

Establish, maintain and sustain effective business and supplier relationships

Raise Purchase Orders and expedite to secure firm delivery dates to ensure on time deliveries for production and programme requirements and enable accurate cost forecasting

Use and maintain Supply Chain’s Systems, Processes and Procedures

Monitor Supplier performance and provide data to relevant assessment processes and systems to facilitate effective future supplier choice and management

Contribute as appropriate in identifying improvements in supplier effectiveness and performance

Ensure all KPI Weekly Metrics are managed within given timescales

Your skills and qualifications:

Excellent ICT skills

Documents and data management

Experience working with SAP

Experience with stakeholder management and influencing others

Ability to identify improvement initiatives

We are looking for someone who is highly organised with their work load and with good multi-tasking and time management skills. You will show excellent communication skills both verbal and written. You will show confidence to build good stakeholder relationships

Salary: £25,002
