Principal Engineer (Requirements and Acceptance)
Would you like to play a key role in the Systems Engineering of Type 26 Global Combat Ship, which will form the backbone of the Royal Navy for decades to come? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer (Requirements and Acceptance) based from our Bristol, Portsmouth or Scotstoun sites.
As a Principal Requirements and Acceptance Engineer, you will use your specialist engineering expertise to apply policy and process, then plan and undertake requirements, verification and validation management. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work across the broad scope of Marine Engineering, supporting the sub-system design effort and ensuring that integration is managed appropriately.
Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer (Requirements and Acceptance) will involve:
Carrying out complex technical analyses and investigations, such as the evaluation and presentation of requirements quality and risk, and the subsequent identification and implementation of effective recovery actions.
Authoring requirements and verifying designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards.
Managing a large-scale verification and validation programme, evidence and achieving stakeholder coherence.
Acting as the main point of contact for sub-system engineers, customers and suppliers for Marine Engineering requirements and acceptance, resolving relatively complex problems and issues whilst maintaining awareness of all parties' priorities and objectives.
Supporting the identification of business opportunities and the preparation of bids in areas of expertise to facilitate the development of the highest quality bids.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Chartered Engineer or working towards
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
Leadership experience within a multi-disciplined engineering environment
Experience performing robust requirements management and analysis, using recognised tools
Desirable:
Experience within Marine Engineering
