Principal FPGA Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for a Principal FPGA Engineer at our site in Rochester.

As a Principal FPGA Engineer, you will be a be a member of a dedicated expert team responsible for the design and verification of digital electronic solutions with a focus on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs) for our range of leading-edge mission computers, displays and flight control products.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer will involve:

Providing technical excellence in the development and delivery of all aspects of digital designs, with a focus on PLD / FPGA development from requirements development, concept and detailed design, coding, synthesis and through to complete verification.
Understanding and actively manage FPGA design impacts on wider product engineering disciplines.
Managing work packages within schedules and budgets
Delivery of design artefacts in support of RTCA/DO-254 certification
Developing and coaching junior Engineers

Your skills and qualifications:

Extensive proven experience and knowledge of PLD / FPGA technologies, design and verification tools and techniques
Experience in working in and leading small teams through development lifecycle, with good appreciation of cost and schedule constraints on designs

Proven experience and knowledge of video processing and control law algorithms would be an advantage

You will possess good verbal and written communications and be able to deliver to tight timescales and budgets.
