Lead Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (AR&M) Engineer

Would you like to conduct a full range of AR&M activities across high value, large scale and complex submarine combat system programmes? We currently have a number of vacancies for Lead AR&M Engineers at our site in either Weymouth.

As a Lead AR&M Engineer, you will be working within the Integrated Logistic Support team to help define the support engineering programme that will underpin the definition of support products for the Common Combat System.

Your main responsibilities as a Lead AR&M Engineer will involve:

Developing AR&M requirements with the customer and establishing derived requirements for the sub-systems of the Combat System and flow these into the supply chain

Leading discussions on AR&M requirements with the customer and the whole boat team and determining applicable standards to be used

Leading negotiations with supply chain on the applicability and translation of supportability requirements

Working across the ILS disciplines to ensure AR&M influences the support solutions and products being evolved

Challenging design teams on areas where AR&M characteristics are compromised and assist in resolutions

Being the technical lead on AR&M for Combat Systems, developing tools, techniques and staff

Your skills and qualifications as a Lead AR&M Engineer:

Essential:

Good working knowledge and experience of Availability, Reliability and Maintainability

Experience with ARM analysis tools and techniques

Desirable:

Knowledge of the defence industry and associated standards

Our Combat Systems team designs, builds, integrates and supports all of the submarine combat systems in the UK fleet – essentially, the eyes and ears of each platform. We provide through-life support for combat systems, sensors and radars, and deliver complex programmes and technologies by applying expert programme management and world-class engineering.
