Principal Systems Engineer – Verification and Validation

Would you like to work within a challenging role, providing support across submarine combat system programmes for the Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Systems Engineer - Verification and Validation at our site in Frimley OR Weymouth.

As a Principal Systems Engineer - Verification and Validation, you will be looking at requirements processes and management of verification and validation evidence to ensure system acceptance by the customer (MoD).

This role will provide you with the opportunity to support all platforms, giving you exposure to both in-service and future submarine programmes.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Systems Engineer – Verification and Validation will involve:

Liaising with both internal and external customers as required to ensure that their requirements acceptance strategy are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated and a clear route to acceptance is agreed

Producing system level integrated test, evaluation and acceptance plans; product specifications; and qualification and acceptance plans

Undertaking peer reviews of documentation or verification tasks

Collating and recording evidence to support requirements acceptance; providing requirements and acceptance metricised progress reports

Leading task requirements management including requirements acceptance definitions and input into DOORS; taking into account the broader Combat Systems functional and non-functional requirements for all submarine classes

Your skills and qualifications as a Principal Systems Engineer – Verification and Validation:

Essential:

Degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering discipline

Knowledge and experience with Systems Engineering principles and Requirements Engineering

Extensive experience of developing and maintaining coherent sets of requirements and acceptance criteria for complex systems

Experience of requirements engineering in a defence or complex systems industry

Desirable:

Knowledge of a defence platform combat or mission systems

Maritime Submarines – Combat Systems
