Principal Engineer – Training Needs Analyst

Would you like to work in an exciting and challenging role, joining a team that are at the first stage of determining the submarine requirements for the future of the Royal Navy’s submarines? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer – Training Needs Analyst at our sites in Barrow.

As a Principal Engineer – Training Needs Analyst, you will be working on the first stage of Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in application with a brand new system in conjunction with gathering data with key stakeholders.

This role will give you the opportunity to work in a stimulating and diverse environment, alongside a group of engineers who are determining the way the Royal Navy’s vessels are built.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer – Training Needs Analyst will involve:

Delivering and managing Training Needs Analysis in accordance with JSP 822 (governance, policy and management)

Data gathering exercise by understanding submarine design and examining how it is different to current classes

Engaging with key stakeholders and understanding the Royal Navy’s training requirements for future submarines

Conducting and presenting Training Needs Analysis that meets MOD DSAT requirements to key stakeholders

Liaising with the Royal Navy, including visits to MOD and Royal Navy bases

Your skills and qualifications as a Principal Engineer – Training Needs Analyst:

Essential:

Demonstrable experience in conducting TNA’s within a Military environment

Confidence in managing and engaging with stakeholders

Solid analytical knowledge from design through to identifying training needs

Competent reporting skills and the ability to articulate information accurately to end users

Desirable:

Experience within a Submariner environment, working on either Vanguard or Astute class submarine

Application of training needs analysis to submarine platforms

Previous leadership experience and a level of autonomy
