PLM Engineer (Product Lifecycle Management)
Would you like a varied role that involves working across all engineering functions within BAE Systems Land UK? We currently have a vacancy for a PLM Engineer at our site in Telford with occasional travel within the UK.
BAE Systems Land designs, manufactures and supports armoured vehicles in the land environment for the UK MoD and export customers. The primary products include main battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armoured engineer vehicles, wheeled military vehicles, military bridging and logistical support.
Within this organisation the Engineering Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Team acts as the focal point for the Engineering Function with regard to software tools (for example CAD and product data management systems), configuration management and development of solutions to complex problems involving legacy product data.
Your main responsibilities as a PLM Engineer will involve:
Supporting production of toolset requirements for new software tools or enhancement to existing applications
Getting involved in the planning and management of engineering toolset trials
Supporting the delivery of training needs for new and existing toolsets
Providing working level support to engineering team
Supporting the retirement of existing applications and maintenance of legacy data through supporting data migration activities as required
Supporting configuration management activities
Assisting in running the Design Standards Forum and Engineering Function governance activities
Supporting development of relevant toolset related Business Management System (BMS) processes
Your skills and qualifications as an PLM Engineer:
Degree or HND in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent is essential
Experience with Siemens NX or Pro Engineer Wildfire/Creo is essential
Experience in the development of the tools would be advantageous
Good knowledge and experience of SAP, MS Office Applications and Teamcenter is essential

A good knowledge of engineering change management concepts and experience in the development of the tools would be an advantage. It is important for the successful candidate to have the ability to interact at all levels with core engineering specialists.
Salary: £30,000+
