Electrician – Plant Maintenance

Would you like to work across multiple programmes and initiate continuous improvements across the business? We currently have a vacancy for an Electrician – Plant Maintenance at our site in Barrow.

As an Electrician – Plant Maintenance, you will be reporting to a network of team leaders and support staff, focusing on electrical aspects of maintenance working in a safety critical environment meeting targets both regulatory and with regards to the development of the team.

This role is challenging and every day is different and can potentially take you to all areas of the Barrow site. The role is a great way to gain further exposure across the business and open up further progression opportunities to technical roles, Team Leaders and Operations Engineers.

Your main responsibilities as a Electrician – Plant Maintenance will involve:

Working safely at all times, complying with health and safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines

Following relevant instructions, technical drawings for machine tools and any other specifications

Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and components, on site assets

Carrying out fault finding and testing activity

Using associated tools and equipment safely and effectively

Understanding of building/electrical regulations and legislation

Supporting/mentoring apprentices

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Electrical trade apprenticeship NVQ3 or equivalent experience

Experience in electrical diagnostics and testing medium voltage

Ability to read technical/machine drawings

Isolation process competent

PC literate

Desirable:

Engineering/Industrial environment experience

Plant maintenance background

IEE Regulations 17th Edition & Inspection and Test

ONC/HNC or equivalent

Ability to follow risk assessments

Location: Barrow

Salary: £28,000+
