Maintenance Fitter (Millwright)
We currently have a vacancy for a Maintenance Fitter (Millwright) at our site in Washington.
As a Maintenance Fitter (Millwright), you will be providing a comprehensive planned and reactive maintenance service to satisfy all business objectives & stakeholders. You will be responsible for breakdown coverage and planned preventable maintenance. The machinery at Washington is very diverse – from the hot forge, test equipment, CNC machines, chemical treatment and pneumatic and hydraulics Systems
Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, this role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a diverse manufacturing environment. A sound knowledge of mechanical engineering together with a good appreciation of electrical engineering will be required as you will be involved in general fault diagnostics and the implementation of continuous improvements and maintenance strategies across the site.
Your main responsibilities as a Maintenance Fitter (Millwright) will involve:
Carrying out fault diagnosis, & rectification of plant and equipment
Completing and recording planned preventative maintenance as per schedule
Providing general mechanical & engineering support to shift operations
Your skills and qualifications as a Maintenance Fitter (Millwright) :
Minimum of ONC Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
Must have completed an apprenticeship with qualifications
Knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
Maintenance experience is essential
Conversant with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
General machining & welding skills
Ability to record and communicate technical information effectively utilising verbal, written and computer based means
Computer literacy (database, word processing, CMMS)
